3 suspected armed robbers shot in Daura

Police in Daura have shot dead three suspected armed robbers in a gun fire exchange last Saturday.
Daily Triumph learnt that the suspected armed robbers came from Niger Republic and made a stop over at Daura to fuel their vehicle at one of the filling stations.
It was gathered that security agents of Niger Republic alerted police in Daura of the presence of the robbers.
Investigation revealed that immediately after they were alerted, a detachement of police move to arrest the robbers a situation which led to exchange of gun fire that led to the arrest of one robber while a gun was recovered from them with over thirty round of ammunition.
Speaking with newsmen, police area commander in charge of Daura zone, Alhaji Abdulmajid Ali, confirmed the incidence.
He explained that one of the suspects arrested, Al-Gamar Mahadi, is assisting the police in their investigation.
Our correspondent learnt that the armed robbers succeeded in snatching two Toyota Helix vehicles from government officials in Niger Republic .
Meanwhile, security agents in Niger Republic under the leadership of chairman of Matamaye local government, Malam Habu Tambari, have paid a thank you visit to the police area commander in Daura.
Malam Habu said reports of armed robbery cases had become a sources of concern to the authorities of the Niger Republic .
