Allow peace to reign in Kogi- Igala youths plead
From ATIKU S. SARKI, Abuja
The National President of Igala PDP Youth Forum, Hon. Emmanuel Okeme has called on Prince Abubakar Audu, the former governor of Kogi state to allow peace and stability to reign, rather than going to tribunal to cause confusion and problems to the present government and the people of the state.
Hon. Okeme made the call while chatting with Daily Triumph at the weekend in Abuja, saying that there will always be progress and significant development in a nation or state where losers of any election join his hands with the winners and work together to develop the area and its people.
He said the case of Prince Abubakar Audu has always been different since he lost the last gubernatorial election on March 29th, where INEC declared Alhaji Ibrahim Idris as the winner.
He said other six contestants from the different parties have taken their loss in good faith, leaving only him, trying to destroy both socio-economic and political development of the state.
The National President, who condemned the action taken by Prince Audu, observed that his action against the present governor was denting the image of people of the state, most especially, the youths who are joining politics.
Hon. Emmanuel maintained that the youths in the state are not happy with his action and called on him to desist from any action that will thwart the progress and development of the state, so as to allow the present government, under Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, to face the business of the state.
“We, the youths in the state are calling on the former governor of Kogi state, Prince Abubakar Audu, to desist from taking negative actions against the state governor, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris and borrow a leaf from late Chief Steve Achema, who honourably stepped aside for peace to reign in our peaceful kingdom of Kogi state”, he maintained.
“We are also calling on the Attah of Igala, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Aliyu Obaje to call his subjects to order, as part of his responsibility to ensure peace in the land, as well as in the state”, he added.
Hon. Emmanuel assured the support of the youths to the present government of the state, under the leadership of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, stressing that all the youths in the state are behind his development efforts.
The National President also hailed the governor of the state for his efforts towards establishing meaningful development projects in the state.
