Emenike urges Abia people to define future
Chief Ikechi Emenike, the ANPP governorship candidate for Abia, has urged the people of the state to act to desgn a bright future for themselves.
Emenike, who made the call in a new year message to the people, said that they could no longer afford to watch their destiny drift away.
"The times call for men to stand up and be counted, as we confront the monsters of deceit, ineptitude, greed and neglect which have combined to rob the people of their essence."
Emenike said that 2007 would be a challengaing year as Nigerians elected their leaders and faced the challenges of sustainable development.
"For us in Abia State, this challenge is both urgent and imperative, given the level of decay, wastages, want and deprivation which the people have witnessed and suffered in the past few years under the misrule of PDP, " he said.
Emenike said that it was because of the desire to rescue the state from rot and provide service that he had offered himself as a candidate in the forthcoming elections.
He urged the people to know that "we are the only candidates with well-articulated and credible programmes", as well as a pragmatic approch to governance to serve them.
The ANPP candidate said that he had a clear vision and mission without persuasion ferom anyone else, adding: " so we are clear in our minds what direction to take Abia state, "to rebuild her, to serve her and make her great."
He promised to develop the state " by creating and sustaining a positive convergence " with its human and material resources, in linewith modern technology.
Emenike urged the people to vote wisely in chosing their chief servant and wished them a happy new year.
