Emir Bayero tasks citizens on peaceful coexistence

THE Emir of Kano, Alhaji (Dr.) Ado Bayero has charged the people of the state to eschew violence, and ensure the sustenance of peace in the state.
Dr. Bayero who was delivering his Sallah message on Saturday at Kofar Kwaru (Emir’s Palace), reiterated that Muslims should pray for peace and progress of the state.
While lamenting the frequent fire accident across the state, Alhaji Bayero cautioned the people against reckless use of fire during this hamattan period as he sympathise with the victims of the recent fire outbreak.
Meanwhile the emir has charged his people to participate enmasse in the on-going voter’s registration exercise to ensure they did not lose their rights of voting for candidates of their choices.
Earlier in the day, the acting Chief Imam of Kano, Sheikh Nasir Muhammad Nasir had charged Muslims to unite as that is the only way they can progress.
Sheikh Nasir in a sermon after the Eid prayer at the Kofar Mata Eid ground also emphasized on the need to pray for the leaders in order to reap dividends of democracy.
Sheikh Nasir also urged Muslims to always be of good conduct and assist each other as ordained by God Almighty and Holy Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Daily Triumph correspondent reports that the severe cold and chilly weather made a lot of people to come to the eid ground late.
However, many of the Muslims who seemed to be uncomfortable with the weather managed to beat the time of commencement of the prayer which started at exactly 8.30 p.m.
The prayer was attended by the emir, Alhaji (Dr.) Ado Bayero, Governor Ibrahim Shekarau and former civilian governor, Arch. Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya among other dignatries.
