Kano compol warns politicians

KANO state commissioner of police, MD Abubakar, has warned
politicians in the state to either avoid using youths as
political thugs or face the wrath of the law.
The commissioner gave the warning during a first quarterly
face-to-face briefing with political leaders, youths and
community associations from metropolitan local government areas,
held at Murtala Muhammad Library Complex recently.
He described the people of Kano as most peaceful and the state
as the political barometer of the nation for many years.
Alhaji Abubakar stated that in the olden days, Kano was not
known for violence, political thuggery or rascality.
He, then advised parents and community leaders to join hands
with security agencies with a view to fishing out bad eggs from
the society.
The commissioner also expressed dismay over the negative
altitude of some politicians who engage in political
recklessness and indiscriminate pasting of posters or banners.
Commenting on commercial motorcyclists, the commissioner charge
them to obey traffic rules and regulations as well comply with
the law banning commercial Achaba ridding after midnight and
avoid reckless riding especially during X-mas, new year and
Sallah celebrations.
Responding, some of the political leaders that attended the
meeting, commended the commissioner for his effort towards
protecting lives and property of the people in the state and
assured him of their support and cooperation have a tee, fair
and credible election in the country.
