``Disaster averted with prayers after the 2003 elections may be difficult to repeat in 2007 as it would amount to deliberate invitation to disaster," he noted.
The Islamic leader noted that the adoption of the Direct Data Capture (DDC) would promote good governance and transparency in the electoral process.
``The emphasis now is on genuine voters as against their exclusion and hijack of similar exercises in the past by politicians, who later turned round to distribute voters' cards to people to impersonate on the day of election," he said.
He urged the INEC chairman not to relent until the exercise was successful, while calling on Nigerians to register.
Alhaji Oluwole also advised politicians to avoid character assassination and blackmail, but to make their campaigns issue-based.
The cleric enjoined all actors in the 2007 polls to accepts results declared by INEC, while victors should display magnanimity in relating with others.
