‘Tranparency, trust promotes devlpt’
By ALIYU YUSUF

TANSPARENCYand trust has been described among the important factors that promotes the development of any cooperative society.
This was disclosed by the chairman, Kano state House of Assembly multipurpose cooperative Society, Alhaji Nura Abdulkadir Ja’e during the annual general meeting of the society, held at the Assembly’s conference hall, Thursday.
He noted that lack of transparency, trust and also running the affairs of such cooperative societies by few member exco members without allowing all to know their actual financial transactions, have for long remained a set back for the cooperative societies.
The chairman, therefore, advised all stakeholders that constitute the membership of any cooperative society, to be patient and make every necessary information available to the members to avoid any possible suspicion.
He also called on the financial members to patronize commodities being sold.
Alhaji Ja’e while soliciting the cooperation of other staff of the assembly and the honourable members to invest in the society, also explained that the door of the executive is always opened to receive any meaningful advice that will enhance its development.
During the occasion, a gift was presented to the former legal director of the Assembly, Barrister Muktar Daneji for his legal advise as well as certificates of appreciation of some outstanding members of the society namely: Alhaji Alhassan Garba, Alhaji Ibrahim Khalil, Alhaji Jamilu Lawal and Malam Uba Hussaini.
At the end of the meeting, a dividend was shared among financial members of the society.
