Blasphemous wrappers seized
ABOUT 500 pieces of wrappers carrying the names of God and other Qur’anic verses were seized and the owners compensated by Kantin Kwari Market Welfare Development Association.
Secretary of the association, Alhaji Balarabe Adaji disclosed this in an interview with Daily Triumph in response to the piece of wrapper found to be carrying the name of Allah and that of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), which was brought to our office by good samaritan.
He said the association has taken adequate measures to remove from the market, all materials which have Qur’anic verses on them, saying about 500 of such materials found have been removed since the beginning of the operation last year.
Alhaji Adaji said the association has compensated the owners with assistance from of the state government,, adding that the association discovered that most of the textile materials were imported.
He then commended the textile dealers of the Kantin Kwari market for their cooperation to remove the materials from the market, despite the diverse composition of dealers in the market.
On the recent fire in accident in the market, Alhaji Adaji commended the state governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, the commissioner of commerce and industry, Alhaji Ahmad Ibrahim Yakasai and other gubernatorial aspirants in the state, for the visit to the market to sympathize with the victims.
Also speaking , a textile dealer Alhaji Liti Kul Kul commended the Kantin Kwari Market, association for educating their customers to suspend the production of the materials, adding that most of the textile materials are being used in Southern part of the country, as passion, to celebrate Islamic activities before the Jewish capitalized on it to sabotage Islam.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of awareness of the people, especially in the Yuruba land to suspend the use of the materials and appealed to the traders to report the discovery of such items to the association.
