Sanda advised on food hygiene

KANO state commissioner of health, Dr. Sanda Muhammad, has advised the public to be cautious and ensure that all food items are properly washed and prepared in a hygienic manner.
The commissioner made this known in a press release issued by the public relations officer in the ministry, Hajiya Maryam Y. Muhammad.
Dr. Sanda, who spoke through the director, PHC&DC, Dr. Dayyabu Muhammad, reiterated that this period when people eat too much of meat, there is the need for extra care.
He urged the public to discard any unwanted materials from animals or bury them in order to avoid infection.
The commissioner said that any remaining food left over should be re-cooked before consumption.
Dr. Sanda also implored the public to report any case of sickness or disease to nearby hospital for immediate attention.
