Ex-Gov. Audu tasks Nigerians on voter registration
Former Kogi state governor, Abubakar Audu has called on Nigerians to embrace voter registration to enable them exercise their right at the polls.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN, yesterday) in a telephone interview that, the voter’s card was crucial to the success of democracy in the country.
“I have enjoyed the popular support of the electorate in the past, when the people of Kogi unanimously voted me to serve as their governor,” he said.
Audu who is the ANPP governorship candidate in Kogi, noted that an effective voter registration could check manipulation of election results.
“The introduction of the Direct Data Capture (DDC) machines is the best thing that has happened to our electoral process, and I urge our people to embrace the new system.” he said.
He said he would launch his governorship campaign after the holidays and that he would use opportunity to mobilise people to register.
