Gov Mu’azu begs for forgiveness
Bauchi state governor Ahmed Muazu has appealed to the people of the state to forgive his mistakes and shortcomings since he became their governor in 1999.
Addressing the state's pilgrims at their camp in Mina near Mecca, Mu'azu said that this would be his last Hajj as governor of the state.
He therefore appealed to the people to forgive his mistakes and any poor judgments that he made while in office and asked them for continued prayers.
He also charged the people to ensure that they voted in a worthy successor to continue with his good work.
``After serving for eight years as a governor I am now by right a leader in our state and will stand firm to fight any injustice or cheating of any form in Bauchi,'' News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) quoted him as saying.
Officials of the state pilgrim's board had earlier reported that some pilgrims from the state had lost 73,130 Saudi Riyals , 1900 dollars and N46,900 during this year's pilgrimage.
