Mariya identifies bane of Nigeria’s problem
IT has been observed that unemployment, penury and general state of despondency among youths in the country, are the bye-products of bad leadership characterized by corruption and plunder of the nation’s resources.
The observation was made by the presidential running mate of the progressive Peoples’ Alliance (PPA)- Hajiya Mariya Ibrahim Baba while addressing a consultative rally organized to cement an alliance between the Republican Party of Nigeria (RPN), the Democratic Peoples’ Party (DPP) and the PPA in Hadejia, Jigawa state.
Hajiya Mariya Baba indicated that the prospect for a brighter future for the country depends to a large extend on the quality of youths today.
She described as pathetic and unacceptable, the continuous neglect of youths by successive governments in their development pursuits, just as she lamented on the state of indigenes among citizens, despite abundance of resources in the country.
She then called on the Nigerian electorates to bestow confidence in the credibility, patriotism and excellent tract records of the PPA’s presidential flag bearer, Dr. Orji Urzo Kalu whom the as the best choice for the presidency in 2007.
Mariya pledged that an Orji Kalu government would bring the persistent lack of basic social infrastructure and the current harsh economic situation to an end adding that Kalu government would pull the nation’s abundant human and material resources together for the overall benefit of the common man.
Hajiya Mariya Baba also appealed to other political parties that are yet to join the alliance, to respond to the fast changing political tide and embrace the emerging coalition in order to forge a common front that will eventually replace the country.
