Another ship sinks in Indonesian waters
Another ship has sunk as it was hit by high waves in the waters of East Nusa Tenggara province in Indonesia.
The accident killed one crew member, the Antara news agency reported yesterday.
The cargo ship with four crew members which sank on Tuesday, was located yesterday by a rescue team, the Agency quoted Sentianus Medi, an official in charge of disaster in the province.
“Search and rescue team saved three crew members and found the body of a dead crew member,” he said.
A fishing boat also went missing in the waters on Saturday, and was found with one of the fishermen dead.
Bad weather has been blamed for the series of accidents, including the Senopati Nusantara with 628 passengers on board, which sank after it was hit by heavy waves for more than 10 hours.
The boat which was coming to the end of its journey before it sank had 400 people missing and 212 rescued.
