LG chairman endorses Amechi’s governorship candidature
Chairman of Obio/Akpor local government council of Rivers, Nyesom Wike says the choice of Chibuike Amaechi as the state’s PDP governorship candidate is wise.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), in Port Harcourt Tuesday, that as the Speaker of the state Assembly, Amaechi had touched the lives of the people, especially through legislation that had direct impact on the masses.
‘’Amaechi is a man, who understands the problems of the local people and has related very well with the people and understands the peculiarities of the Niger Delta’’ he said.
He said that if voted as governor of Rivers in April, the Speaker would continue with the good work he started as a lawmaker.
He stated that the problems of the Niger Delta was beyond any government, but Amaechi’s contacts and charisma would assist in curbing youth restiveness in the region.
