Mahmud chides politicians over political instability

CHAIRMAN Jigawa state Independent Electoral Commission and Sarkin Yakin Kazaure, Alhaji Yusuf Muhmud has observed that the major problem behind the political instability in the country, was due to the abandoning of party structures by the politicians.
He made the observation in an interview with Daily Triumph in Kazaure, Jigawa state, saying majority of politicians have abandoned their responsibilities under democratic system of governance as well as political parties structures.
Alhaji Mahmud also blamed the party leaders in the country of becoming sub-servant to those elected political officers, adding that majority of the parties and their members were won by the political officers, aspirations.
He, however, advised them to assist in reviving the political parties structures in order to improve the standard of democratic system of governance in Nigeria, adding that majority of these elected nowadays were elected due to their credibility, honesty, dedication and good relationship with the electorate.
The chairman then warned politicians not to take politics as do or die affair and as well, stop using party thugs to intimidate opponents so that there will be smooth conduct of election in the area.
Alhaji Mahmud on the other hand cautioned the youths in the area to shun the unpatriotic politicians that have been providing hard drugs to them during their political campaign in order to achieve their political willings.
The chairman also reminded Nigerians on the need to continue to live peacefully with one- another in the interest of the unity of the country.
