Petrol sales for N100 per litre in Katsina
From MU’AWUYA B. IDRIS, Katsina

PETROL stations in Katsina now sell a litre of fuel for N100 against the N65 official price, investigation by Daily Triumph can now reveal.
Our correspondent gathered that the situation followed shortage of the commodity which hit the state within the last four days.
It was learnt that the scarcity of petrol at filling stations has provided the opportunity for illegal black market operators to return to major streets in the state.
Our correspondent also reports that although NNPC mega station in the state operated throughout the just-concluded holiday, however the station cannot satisfy the demand of motorists.
As a result of the scarcity, people of the state, mostly civil servants were forced to abandoned their cars and opted for commercial motorcycles (Achaba).
A civil servant in the state, Malam Ayuba Shu’aibu, accused owners of petrol stations in the state of causing the fuel scarcity.
Malam Shu’aibu said the situation is inhuman and called on the federal government to deal with people sabotaging its effort for ensuring availability of the commodity.
Speaking to Daily Triumph, a trader at Sabon Layi, Malam Kabir Yar’adua said the scarcity of the commodity has seriously affected commercial activities at rural markets.
