Olurin swears-in new acting chief
judge
Ekiti state administrator Adetunji Olurin today in Ado-Ekiti
swore in Justice Bimbo Fasannmi, as new acting chief judge for
the state.
Until her new appointment, she was a judge of the state high
court three.
The Office of the state Chief Judge became vacant following the
suspension of the former chief judge, Justice Babatunde Bamisile
and Justice Jide Aladejana.
The National Judicial Council suspended them for their alleged
roles in the impeachment of former Governor Ayo Fayose.
Swearing-in the acting chief judge at the Conference Hall of the
old Governor’s Office, Ado-Ekiti, Olurin urged her to live up to
the expectations of her new office.
The administrator further urged her to protect, defend and
preserve the nation’s constitution in the discharge of her
duties.
“The dispensation of justice requires courage, boldness and due
respect for the constitution and I will want to implore you, as
the new acting chief judge, to live above board.
“I urge you to ensure that due process is followed in all
judicial matters brought before you in your new capacity,’’
Olurin stressed.
Responding, Fasanmi gave the assurance that she would do all she
could to see that her job was sincerely done.
She also promised to live up to the expectation of new office in
carrying out the task ahead of her. |
