KANO state governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau has avoided joining
issues with the presidential flagbearer of his party – ANPP,
Gen. Muhammadu Buhari who in his Sallah message to the people of
Kano state, did not openly endorse the governor as he did four
years ago.
Governor Shekarau who was a guest speaker on FRCN, Kaduna, Hausa
phone-in programme Hannu da yawa Saturday, did not answer a
question put to him by a listener who wanted to know about his
political relationship with the former military head of state.
Instead, the governor enjoined citizens of the state to have
faith in God and pray for their leaders to be good. ‘’We should
all pray to God to give us good leaders not only in Kano, but in
the entire country. As we all know it is only God that gives
power to who He wants and when He wants to,’’ Governor Shekarau
said.
‘’We have to accept that we must be reformed individually before
we can expect that the entire society will change for the
better. We should all strive to know God, fear Him, worship Him
at all times and rely on Him alone. All
