Shekarau refuses to trade words with Buhari…Says God gives power

KANO state governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau has avoided joining issues with the presidential flagbearer of his party – ANPP, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari who in his Sallah message to the people of Kano state, did not openly endorse the governor as he did four years ago.
Governor Shekarau who was a guest speaker on FRCN, Kaduna, Hausa phone-in programme Hannu da yawa Saturday, did not answer a question put to him by a listener who wanted to know about his political relationship with the former military head of state.
Instead, the governor enjoined citizens of the state to have faith in God and pray for their leaders to be good. ‘’We should all pray to God to give us good leaders not only in Kano, but in the entire country. As we all know it is only God that gives power to who He wants and when He wants to,’’ Governor Shekarau said.
‘’We have to accept that we must be reformed individually before we can expect that the entire society will change for the better. We should all strive to know God, fear Him, worship Him at all times and rely on Him alone. All
