Stateless’Tamuz rejects Nigeria
Nigerian-born Toto Tamuz has turned his back on Nigeria despite
being named by Super Eagles coach Berti Vogts in a 37-man squad
to face Uganda later this month.
Tamuz is the son of former Nigeria international Clement Temile
and he was included in Vogts first squad list as Nigeria coach,
but the youngster, who has already been capped for Israel
despite the fact that he is yet to get Israeli citizenship, said
on Tuesday that he has no interest in playing for Nigeria.
”I heard it today in the press,” Tamuz said. “There is nothing
to talk about it. I do not mean to consider it as the offer does
not interest me. My first priority is to play for the Israel
national team.”
