18 presidential candidates on INEC’s list
INEC yesterday displayed names of 18 out of the 29 Presidential candidates that submitted their nomination forms as at December 22.
INEC national commissioner in charge of legal services, Alahaji Muhammad Abubakar, told newsmen on Jan. 5, that 29 candidates submitted nomination forms.
Those on the list are Atiku Abubakar and Chudi Nwike, AC's Presidential and Vice presidential candidate; and Alhaji Tajudeen Ariori for Allied Congress Party (ACPN).
Others are Prof. Patrick Utomi and Alhaji Yususf Mustapha, for ADC; and Mohammed Buhari and Chief Edwin Ezeoke for ANPP.
APGA had Dim chukwuemeka Ojukwu as President with Alhaji Habib Gajo as his running mate and APLP had Emmanuel Okereke.
Others are Sir Lawrence Adedoyin and Yahaya Daniel of African Political System (APS) and Dr Iheanyichukwu Nnaji and Adamau Musa as President and Vice President for Better Nigeria Progressive Party (BNPP).
Citizens Popular Party had Mr Maxi Okwu and Hajiya Rabia Affah as President and Vice, DPP Attahiru Baffarawa with a joint ticket with Prof. Timothy Nwala.
Fresh Party had Rev. Chris Okotie, Hope Democratic party (HDP) had Chief Ambrose Owuru, and MMN had Mojisola Obasanjo and Isa Sarki as her Vice.
Dr Olapade Agoro was listed as NAC's presidential candidate, Prof. Vivian Mottohmigan for NPC, and NUP with Malam Aminu Abubakar and Prof Kingsley Eze-ibe as a joint ticket.
PDP had a joint ticket of Musa Yar'adua and Goodluck Jonathan and RPN has the duo of Chief Sunny Okogwu and Hajiya Larai Umaru.
No reason was given for the display of only 18 candidates but verification of the candidates hold from Jan. 22 to Jan. 23.
