KTSG introduces bereaved family allowance

KATSINA state government has introduced a special allowance payable to families of civil servants who die in active service, NLC chairman in the state, Comrade Aliyu Matazu, has revealed.
Comrade Matazu told Daily Triumph in an exclusive interview that the special allowance is meant for the upkeep of the family.
He said already government has issued a circular to that effect, while families of some late civil servants have enjoyed the special allowance.
Comrade Matazu explained that government had observed that shortly after the death of any civil servant, his family find it difficult to keep life going, pointing out that the allowance will minimize their problem.
On the effort of the government to improve welfare of the workers, Comrade Matazu said Katsina state had done its best within the last eight years to motivate workers and improve their working conditions.
According to him, government had settled all workers’ benefits within the last eight years.
Comrade Matazu commended the state Head of Service, Alhaji Abdulrahman Abdullahi, for his encouragement to Nigeria Labour Congress in the state.
