ANPP, AC alliance on course
-- Kumo
The alliance between ANPP and AC for the 2007 elections is on
course, the national secretary of the ANPP, Sen. Sa’idu Kaumo,
has said.
He told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday in Abuja,
that nothing would distract the alliance.
“We met on Wednesday to review the progress of the MoU and
agreed to wait for AC’s presidential candidate, Vice President
Atiku Abubakar, to seal the deal,’’ he said.
Kumo explained that there was mutual understanding between the
two parties on the alliance contrary to speculations that it had
collapsed.
According to him, the country needs such an alliance to wrest
power from PDP.
He urged other parties to join forces with the ANPP and AC in
enthroning good governance and sustainable democracy.
The scribe observed that it was the fear of the realisation of
the alliance that had forced the PDP and its sympathisers to
work against the coalition.
Kumo advised Nigerians to elect credible leaders and
representatives to end their “eight years of slavery”.
