Sanda directs zonal director to repair X-ray machines

KANO state commissioner of health, Dr. Sanda Muhammad has directed Gaya zonal medical director of health to within two weeks repair the X-ray machine at Gaya General Hospital for the benefit of the people of the local government councils in the zone.
The commissioner gave the directive when he paid an inspection visit to Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, (MMSH), and Wudil General Hospitals respectively.
Dr. Sanda said if the X-ray machine at Gaya General Hospital is put back to use, the people of the area will not have to come to MMSH for such services.
He also directed that the hospital should look into the problem of drainage system with a view to checking the menace of flooding.
Inspecting the renovation of the maternity section of MMSH, the commissioner instructed the contractor handling the projects to complete the work before the end of this month so as to continue providing maternal services for the benefit of pregnant women in the state.
Dr. Sanda also identified some minor repairs and directed the contractor to include it in the renovation exercise.
Conducting the commissioner round the renovation work, the Chief Medical Director of the Hospital, Dr. Sulaiman Wali Sani, thanked the present administration for the work which has long been overdue.
The renovation exercise include the extention of Maternity Ward with 80 beds, provision of two generating sets and other essential services provided in the hospital.
He appealed to pregnant women and patients to come to hospital in time in order to detect their problems for possible assistance instead of waiting until late when it is too late.
At Wudil General Hospital, the commissioner inspected the extention of a new block of ward that will accommodate 20 beds, renovation work, and provision equipment at VVF ward of the hospital.
Dr. Sanda said the state government has given the health sector paramount importance and therefore called on the people of the state to reciprocate the gesture by praying for the continuity of the administration.
