Halima Shekarau visits AKTH

AS part of a familiarization visit, the wife of state governor, Hajiya Halima Ibrahim Shekarau, has paid a visit to Malam Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH).
Hajiya Halima, who expressed sympathy with patients at the hospitals, promised to contribute her quota for the sake of Allah and prayed for their quick recovery.
The wife of the governor, who was received by Chief Medical director of the Hospital, Dr. Abdulhamid Isa Dutse and the chairman, board of directors Alhaji Hassan Ahmad was taken round the paediatric and the female surgical wards.
At the female surgical ward, Hajiya Halima expressed sympathy for Malama Sadiya down with cancer and faces possible amputation of the second leg, pledged to pay for artificial legs after the surgery.
She had paid for a similar case at Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital, Kano.
She also appealed to wealthy individuals in the state to assist in such cases
Responding, the chief Medical director of AKTH, Dr. Abdulhamid Isa Dutse expressed gratitude to Hajiya Halima for her concern to the sick and the needy in the state.
Dr. Dutse stressed the need for the general public to always pay visit to the hospital with a view to assisting the less privileged patients in the hospital.
He enumerated some cases that require assistance that included hypertension, diabetes cancer, and heart failure, among others.
