Garko pledges support for health,
education
GARKO local government council in Kano state has pledged to give
top priority to the education and health sectors.
The sole administrator of the council, Dr. Dayyabu Muhammad gave
the assurance while receiving the acting local education
secretary, Alhaji Muhammad Baba Khaleel in his office.
He said the move was in line with the present administration’s
policy of improving the two sectors, adding that education and
health are vital to human development.
The sole administrator pointed out that as the foundation of
education, the local government will do all it can to improve
primary education in the area.
Dr. Muhammad called on stakeholders in the education sector to
cooperate with the new administration towards achieving the set
goals.
The acting education secretary called on the administrator to
provide four motorcycles for effective the supervision of
primary schools in the area.
He also stressed the need for the provision of chairs and desks
to Lamire and Buda junior secondary schools, as well as
Asasiddeen Islamiyya School, Dal.
Alhaji Khaleel told the administrator that the outgoing regime
had given the education sector special attention and hoped that
the trend would be maintained.
He called on the administrator to settle personnel of the
education department staff their outstanding allowances.
Sarkin Hawan jarman Kano dies
The death has occured of Malam Abdusslam Umar Dogarai, Sarkin
Hawan Jarman Kano on Wednesday, January 9, 2007.
Aged 44, he died in Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Until his death, Sarkin Hawa was the Acting Head of Departmnt,
Kumbotso local government council of Kano state.
