KANO state governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, has laid a wreath in honour of the Nigerian fallen heroes.
The event, which was held at Malam Kato Square, Kano has signified the end of series of activities held in remembering the fallen heroes of the Nigerian Armed Forces at the civil war.
The governor, also inspected a parade mounted by the military.
Other activities lined up for the event included freeing of white pigeons to signify peace and stability in Nigeria, while a gun shot to the air by the parading officers added glamour to the ceremony.
Prayers were also offered by the two major religious leaders of Islam and Christianity for the reposed and continued peaceful co-existence of Nigeria as one entity.
