KNSG releases N1m to Baleria

KANO state government has released the sum of N1million to the assistant coach of the state darling team, Kano Pillars Football Club, Kabiru Baleria to enable him attend UEFA coaching course in London scheduled to hold from February 20 to March 9, 2007.
The special adviser to Kano state governor on sports development, Alhaji Kabiru Waya stated this while presenting the N1million cash to coach Baleria last week.
Alhaji Waya revealed that the assistance was part of Shekarau-led administration to encourage the state indigine coaches to improve their knowledge in various sporting activities, especially football.
The special adviser further said that the present administration has recorded tremendous achievements in different sporting activities within and outside the state, adding that the state government is willing assist its teeming youths as part of its human development programme aimed at improving the well-being of its people.
He called on the coach Baleria to reciprocate government gesture by dedicating to his studies and be a good ambassador to the state wherever he found himself.
Responding, Coach Kabiru Baleria thanked the state government as well as the special adviser for their concern as well as encouragement for the promotion and development of sporting activities in the state.
Baleria pledged that he will do everything possible to maintain the state government’s policy especially in the area of discipline, honesty and dedication to duty throughout the duration of the course while in London.
He said the course is expected to gulf over N1m which will cover his to and fro plight tickets, transportation, feeding and accommodation.
