Commissioner resigns from Anambra
Anambra Commissioner for works, housing and transport Nkemakonam Okeke has resigned his appointment with effect from March 12.
Okeke told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) today in Onitsha in Anambra that his resignation was on personal grounds.
He said he had related well with Governor Peter Obi and would remain indebted to him for the opportunity given him to serve.
He explained that his relationship with the governor, whom he described as his "mentor," would not be affected by his resignation.
The former commissioner, who said he had made positive contributions that helped in the development of the state during his stewardship, noted that he would be ready to take up any future appointment.
He said he had since submitted his letter of resignation to the governor through the appropriate channel.
Okeke, was appointed commissioner for works, housing and transport in January.
