Kano ANPP admonishes members against violence
By ADAMU ABDULLAHI

IN continuation with its political campaign in Kano state, the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) has enjoined its party members and faithful to desist from violent politicking.
The chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Sani Hashim Hotoro made the plea in Gaya town, headquarters of Gaya local government during the launching of the party’s Kano South Senatorial campaign yesterday.
Alhaji Hotoro who described the state governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau who is also the ANPP governorship candidate as a qualitative material, said the governor has dedicated his time and energy to develop the state.
According to him, in view of his desire to be re-elected, Malam Shekarau deserves to be given the second chance, adding that it is high time Kano people appreciated his stewardship in the state.
Turning to the mass gathering of the party supporters, the Kano ANPP chairman said the crowd is a strong sign of the party’s acceptance among the people of the state.
Earlier, the state Deputy Chairman of the Elders Committee, Alhaji Ammani Inuwa had said that ANPP is a non-violent party but it would not fold its arms and watch while is being rigged out during the election.
To this effect, the deputy chairman of the elders committee charged the party loyalists to ensure they vote wisely and defend their votes during the forthcoming election.
On his part, the ANPP gubernatorial candidate in the state and the incumbent governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, warned people against those in the opposition going round and buying people’s voter’s cards.
The governor noted that it is a violation of their right to have their voter’s cards sold, explaining that only with these cards they would be able to elect candidates of choice.
Meanwhile, the state chairman of the ANPP has received some members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from the area who defected to ANPP and flags were presented to those candidates who will contest the state House of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate seats.
