Kano ANPP admonishes members
against violence

IN continuation with its political campaign in Kano state, the
All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) has enjoined its party members
and faithful to desist from violent politicking.
The chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Sani Hashim
Hotoro made the plea in Gaya town, headquarters of Gaya local
government during the launching of the party’s Kano South
Senatorial campaign yesterday.
Alhaji Hotoro who described the state governor, Malam Ibrahim
Shekarau who is also the ANPP governorship candidate as a
qualitative material, said the governor has dedicated his time
and energy to develop the state.
According to him, in view of his desire to be re-elected, Malam
Shekarau deserves to be given the second chance, adding that it
is high time Kano people appreciated his stewardship in the
state.
Turning to the mass gathering of the party supporters, the Kano
ANPP chairman said the crowd is a strong sign of the party’s
acceptance among the people of the state.
Earlier, the state Deputy Chairman of the Elders Committee,
Alhaji Ammani Inuwa had said that ANPP is a non-violent party
but it would not fold its arms and watch while is being rigged
out during the election.
To this effect, the deputy chairman of the elders committee
charged the party loyalists to ensure they vote wisely and
defend their votes during the forthcoming election.
On his part, the ANPP gubernatorial candidate in the state and
the incumbent governor, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, warned people
against those in the opposition going round and buying people’s
voter’s cards.
The governor noted that it is a violation of their right to have
their voter’s cards sold, explaining that only with these cards
they would be able to elect candidates of choice.
Meanwhile, the state chairman of the ANPP has received some
members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) from the area who
defected to ANPP and flags were presented to those candidates
who will contest the state House of Assembly, House of
Representatives and Senate seats.
