Obasanjo urges Eagles handler to ignore negative comments
President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday in Abuja advised the new Super Eagles Technical Adviser Berti Vogts to concentrate in soccer development in the country from the grass roots to the top.
Obasanjo offered the advice when Vogts led by NFA officials and the Chairman of NSC Bala Ka'oje paid him a courtesy visit at the Presidential Villa.
Briefing sports journalists at the Glass House on the outcome of the visit, NFA Secretary-General Bolaji Ojo-Oba said that the president advised Vogts not to be distracted by negative criticisms about his job.
``Mr President told him that Nigerians will criticise him, but that he should not listen to negative comments, rather, he should concentrate on his job,'' Ojo-Oba said.
