Obasanjo confers with two African leaders

President Olusegun Obasanjo met yesterday in Abuja with President Faure Gnassingbe of Togo and President Yayi Boni of Benin Republic.
President Obasanjo and the two leaders discussed bilateral and multilateral issues of current concern to the governments and peoples of their countries. The issues include the progress of work on the West African Gas Pipeline and the supply of electric power generated in Nigeria to Benin and Togo.
President Obasanjo also seized the opportunity of the visit to brief the Beninois and Togolese leaders on Nigeria’s forthcoming general elections.
He thanked the two leaders for visiting Nigeria so early in the new year and wished them and their countries a happy and prosperous 2007.
The two Presidents thanked President Obasanjo for Nigeria’s support and cooperation with their countries.
They prayed for peaceful and successful elections in Nigeria.
