2007: Ex-politician predicts brighter future for Nigeria
By SHEHU M. TAHIR

CONTRARY to expectations, Alhaji Wada Salisu Maigatari, has prophesised that, Nigeria will remain unshaken, even after the April elections.
Speaking to Daily Triumph in Kano, recently, Alhaji Maigatari, a veteran politician said, Nigerians should understand that, democracy has come to stay in the country.
“This is so, because of the fervent prayers being offered by Nigerians whom, he described as, lovers of peace not violence”,he said.
The retired politician while talking on the candidature of General Muhammadu Buhari on the platform of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), he said General Buhari has brighter hopes for the country and he is more than qualified to lead it to greater heights.
With the coming of General Buhari into the presidential race, Alhaji Maigatari said, God Has answered prayers of the masses.
He opined that, despite the fact that, People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has fielded a northerner from gen. Buhari’s area, the PDP would not capture power any longer.
He, however, used the opportunity to advice Nigerians from all walks of life to inculcate the fear of God in their mind, so that the country can move forward.
He also advised politicians in the country to be honest in their political dealings, adding that, they should not contravene electoral laws or rig elections to favour themselves.
Alhaji Maigatari further counseled the politicians on the fact that, only God gives power to whom He wishes.
To the Islamic scholars, he advised them not to relent in their efforts towards praying for peace and instability in the country, so that the country would continue to remain as one united entirely.
To the electorate, Alhaji Maigatari urged them to rethink, while casting their votes so that credible candidates would be voted at the helm of affairs of the country, a scenario which he said would definitely take Nigeria to promised land.
