THE board of the Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVF) has called on Kano state government to facilitate its easy camping ahead of the 9th All-African Games tagged Algiers ‘07.
According to the letter addressed to Kano state sports council and signed by the association secretary, Bode Alli Durotoye, the board selected Kano as the camp venue of the male volleyball team.
The secretary further said that the camp exercise is in preparation for the games scheduled for Algiers in July.
He solicited for the support and kind approval for the use of hotel accommodation and other facilities at the Indoor Sports Hall of Sani Abacha Sports Complex, Kofar Mata, Kano, as well as a bus for the conveyance of players to weight training at least three times a week.
The training exercise is expected to commence from January 15, 2007 with 20 players and 10 officials.
When contacted, the Kano state director of sports, Alhaji Ibrahim Abba confirmed receipt of the letter, adding that the state government has been assisting and contributing to the camping of various national teams in the past.
