Emir Bayero charges farmers to re-pay NACRBD loan

THE Emir of Kano, Alhaji (Dr) Ado Beyero has urged farmers to redouble their effort in paying back loans they received from the Nigerian Agricultural Cooperative and Rural Development Bank (NACRD) to enable others benefit.
The Emir made the call when board member of the bank paid him a courtesy visit in his palace.
Alhaji Bayero, who also said the bank gives this loan under certain conditions, enjoined farmers to also do the same by following the stipulated conditions in paying back.
He expressed satisfaction with the level of assistance being given to farmers and stressed the need for such continued support.
In his address, the chairman of the board, Alhaji Iro Abubakar Dan Musa said they were in Kano to hold their annual general meeting and to also file their complaints to the emir for assistance.
According to him, the bank has disbursed a loan of N1.5 billion to farmers, saying however, that not less than N500 million has been paid back to the bank.
In this regard, the chairman solicited the Emir’s assistance to prevail on the people to pay back the loans.
He commended the Emir for his contribution to the society and the nation in general.
