Gov Botmang swears-in 17
commissioners

Plateau state governor, Chief Michael Bot-mang s aid there is
need for reconciliation, amongst the people.
He made this known at the swearing-in of 17 newly appointed
commissioners at the Government House Rayfield, Jos, saying
``There is no plan or agenda, however well-intentioned, that can
succeed if we still harbour the old grievances that destroyed
our heritage of brotherhood.’’
According to him, what he expected of them is to render
invaluable services that will improve the lives of the people
and upgrade theirstandards and values especially with the few
months left.
He urged them to work round the clock to bequeath meaningful
legacies that will not only stand the test of time but serve as
veritable foundation where the much talked about Plateau Project
will be built.
The governor further stated that the ministry for local
government and chieftaincy affairs, has been revert back to its
former status as a bureau for local government and chieftaincy
affairs, because government descovered many unresolved
chieftaincy matters.
According to him, already the hub of the people economic
activities, the Jos Main Market is being resuscitated, while the
Jos Inland Containers Port foundation laying ceremony was held
on Wednesday.
Botmang said in addition, plans are being concluded for the
flagging off of road rehabilitation in Jos metropolis and
surrounding villages, early next week.
Those sworn-in included Barr. Pwajok Edward Gyang, justice;
Dakul John-Bosco, housing and transport; Yohanna Arum Izang,
water resources and rural development; Hon. Alh. Umaru Miango (Ciroma
Miango) inter-governmental affairs; Plang Diket Satso, science
and technology; Kungpat Martins Janyim, parastatals and Frank
Bagudu Tardy, environment.
Others included Alh. Dalhatu Aliyu Kantana, Garkuwan Kantana,
lands, survery, town planning; Jolyn Zwalnan Zamfara, finance
and economic planning, Idi Ibrahim Waziri, tourism and culture;
Danjuma Worim Dadu, works; Yusufu Anthony Majau, health and
Barr. Dasak Sukkur Sylvester, commerce and industries.
While Thaddeus Dongkwap Shaldas, agriculture and natural
resources; Sylvester Namang Mangtit, information and
communication, Bot Bulus (Dabot) youths and sports, Margret
Nankon Jatau, women affairs and social development and the
deputy governor, Chief Jethro Akun is to oversees education
ministry.
