Nigerians cautions against money-bags politics
By SALUHU N. MUHAMMAD

NIGERIANS have been called upon to shun money-bag politics, to ensure voting of credible candidates, who can move the country forward.
The call was made by a young politician and a media practitioner Alhaji, Shamsudeen Sabi’u Shehu, of Shehu Media and Advertising Company Ltd. Kano, while chatting with Daily Triumph in his office.
Alhaji Shehu said, whosoever demands for money before voting, should not expect good dividends of democracy, adding that, he should also blame nobody but himself.
Alhaji Shamsudeen however appealed to the politicians to always fulfill their pledges and desist from blackmailing or using insulting words against their fellow politicians, especially during campaign rallies.
Furthermore, he urged youths in the country to be cautious of some dubious and selfish politicians that will give them money and drugs, aimed at causing destructions, only to later discard them.
Shamsudeen also pleaded with older politicians to always draw the younger ones nearer and give them training, saying one day, the elders would not be there to guide them.
While speaking on crisis between the President and his Vice, President, Shamsudeen stated that, “it is unfortunate and a slap on the nation‘s democrcy, appealing to the two leaders to resolve their differences and join hands together, in order to set a good example for youths to emulate, as leaders of tomorrow.
Also on alliance between ANPP and AC, he stressed that, there is nothing bad in it, as the alliance is a good development for the country.
The director also used the opportunity to appeal to the INEC chairman, Prof. Maurice Iwu to fear God and ensure that, a credible, free and fair election is held in 2007.
