Garko happy with voter registration exercise
THE sole administrator of Garko local government area, Dr. Dayyabu Muhammad has expressed satisfaction with the progress in the voter registration exercise at Kunfada and Kafin Chiri towns.
The sole administrator made the remark when he visited the villages.
Addressing people of Kafin Chiri, the administrator stressed the need for eligible voter to fully participate in the exercise.
Dr. Dayyabu, who spoke extensively on the importance of the exercise, called on husbands to allow their wives to obtain the voter cards.
He appealed to traditional rulers to mobilize their subjects on the importance of the exercise.
The administrator assured of the local administration’s support and assistance to achieve optimum result.
Dr. Dayyabu also visited Garko Independent Electoral Commission Office where he expressed satisfaction with the effort of the commission for registering over 80 per cent of eligible voters despite all odds.
He pledged to assist Garko INEC office on the expected target.
Responding, the electoral officer, Alhaji Habu Galadima expressed appreciation on the visit and called on the administrator to assist towards achieving the set goals.
The electoral officer, who described the visit as the first of its kinds, hoped that eligible voters in the area would obtain the voter card before the expiration of the exercise this month
