SOKAYOV blames marginalisation on
Makarfi
From Mustapha Saye, Kaduna
Governor Ahmad Muhammad Makarfi of Kaduna state has been blamed
for the marginalisation southern Kaduna people despite the
unprecedented support they have given his administration,
National President Southern Kaduna Youths Vanguard (SOKAYOV),
Mr. Mordecai Sunday Ibrahim, has said.
In his paper presented at a press conference titled ‘Enough is
enough stop these lies’, Mr. Sunday Ibrahim stated that, “it is
indeed disheartening that not withstanding the unprecedented
support the people of southern Kaduna have continued to give
Governor Makarfi and People’s Democratic Party’s PDP in the
state, their gesture is not reciprocated”.
He said the governor and some greedy, selfish and unpatriotic
members of the PDP including some southern Kaduna sons and
daughters through divide and rule have worked assiduously
against the interest of the southern Kaduna people.
Therefore, he pointed out “in the past seven years and eight
months no single southern Kaduna son or daughters was ever given
a contract worth 50 million in which such person made a net
profit of even a paltry five million as if that is not enough he
has deliberately set out to humiliate the cream of the highly
responsible and respected sons and daughters of southern Kaduna
that helped him (Makarfi) to peacefully pilot the affairs of the
state over this period.’’
Mr. Sunday Ibrahim recalled that, the Makarfi administration
until this moment does not deemed it necessary to settle the
benefits (gratuity and others) of the late Deputy Governor Engr.
Stephen Rijo Shekari who served him diligently, honestly and
loyally.
According to him we are all living witnesses to the fact that
even before his death the late deputy governor was almost
humiliated but for God’s intervention and the man’s absolute
gentility adding that a side the late Shekari, Governor Makarfi
though, he could also humiliate the likes of Dr. Baba Usman and
Engr. Bawa Magaji Kufana who among others remain the heroes that
served as the shock-absorbers/stabilizers of his administration
that helped him to secure his second term ticket.
He maintained that what southern Kaduna people are witnessing
today is a situation whereby they have been beaten and told not
cry, having served Makarfi and PDP for this long. ‘’The only
hope of southern Kaduna people for remaining en-bloc in the
party was and still is the hope of clinching the party’s
governorship ticket in 2007, particularly as verbally promised
by Makarfi himself to southern Kaduna PDP elders on several
occasion,’’ he concluded. |
