Kibiya council tasks households on healthcare
HOUSEholds in Kibiya local government area have been urged to allow their wives benefit from health care services being provided by the local government council.
The sole administrator of the council, Alhaji Mahdi Ahmad made the call while addressing members of the local government health committee at wards level.
Alhaji Ahmad said his administration would give priority to antenatal care towards ensuring a healthy society.
He, therefore, implored people in the area to allow their wives avail themselves of the opportunity provided in the health sector.
On his part, the state supervisor of local government health committee, Alhaji Sanusi Haruna Rano, commended Kibiya local government council for establishing the committee on health, saying it would go along way in addressing most of our health problems at the grassroots.
Earlier, the state supervisor had held meetings with traditional birth attendants, Imam, and traditional rulers on the role expected of them during the forthcoming polio immunization exercise.
Also speaking, primary health care coordinator of the area, Alhaji Garba Muhammad gave assurance that health personnel would give maximum co-operation towards the success of the exercise.
He also advised people in the area to desist from self medication, describing it as dangerous to their health, saying instead, they should contact a doctor.
The district head of Kibiya, Kaigaman Kano, Alhaji Sunusi Abubakar Ila, said traditional institutions would continue to support any move aimed at uplifting the living standard of the people.
