-Nagarta
From ATIKU S. SARKI, Abuja
THE chairman of All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) in Kachia local
government of Kaduna state, Alhaji Surajo Ibrahim Nagarta has
assured that, ANPP will emerge victorious in the forth-coming
general election, especially in his area.
``I am assuring you that, this time around in 2007 elections,
ANPP is going to win in Kachia local government and other parts
of the country,`` he reaffirmed.
Alhaji Nagarta made the assurance in an exclusive interview with
Daily Triumph correspondent recently, saying he was confident of
the caliber of the party’s aspirants in the area and the efforts
being made by the ward chairman and the exco to make people
understand the laudable objectives of the party and also the
readiness of the people to change the present administration.
The chairman observed that since 1999, ANPP has been the leading
and the ruling party in the area.
He said in 2003, every body knows that, the party won the
elections but results were rigged by the PDP government,
pointing out that, the recent primaries of the party (PDP) into
the state House of Assembly and the federal House of
Representatives was a clear evidence.
Alhaji Surajo who was happy to express that democracy has come
to stay, added that ANPP will still maintain its leading role in
the area, as well as other parts in this country.
While ensuring a question on their presidential candidate,
General Muhammadu Buhari to whether he will be the next
president or not in the forthcoming general elections, Alhaji
Nagarta assured that, there is no doubt that Aso Rock is
awaiting for General Buhari and nothing shall stop him from
going there by God’s grace.
He said, the credibility of General Buhari would surely make
Nigerians vote for him because he is the only president that can
make a positive change in this country.
The party chairman called on the party members in the area and
other parts of the country to ensure that, they all register in
the on-going voters registration exercise, saying that, their
votes remain the only weapon to elect candidate on their choice.
He also called on all party members and supporters to shun all
political violence, believing that, ``power belongs to God and
politics of violence is not in the interest of the party``.
Alhaji Surajo Nagarta further advised the party aspirants in the
area to work closely with the officials of the party, most
especially the ward chairman in order to move the party forward.
