Jigawa SUBEB establishes
training, inspection unit

THE management committee of the Jigawa state Universal Basic
Education Board (SUBEB) has approved the establishment of
teachers training and inspection units in 27 local government
education authorities of the state.
The state executive chairman SUBEB, Babangida Hussaini disclosed
this in an interview with Daily Triumph in his office after
their meeting with the education secretaries at the board’s
headquarters in Kazaure.
The SUBEB chairman further said it become imperative to
establish the units at the local education authorities levels in
view of the need for training and re-training of teachers so as
to get the best out –put.
According to him, some of the units responsibilities include
among other, identifying teachers that need to be given either
refresher course on the job or in- service training.
He, therefore, called on the education secretaries to ensure
regular monitoring and supervision of schools in their domain.
Alhaji Hussaini further explained that the committee has been
expanded to include the representatives of the state Nigeria
Union of Teachers (NUT) and the All Nigeria Conference of
Principals of Secondary Schools (ANCOPSS).
He stressed the importance of working as a team so as to move
the educational sector to greater heights.
