Katsina’s 7 Sharia appeal court judges get new cars soon

SEVEN Khadis of Sharia Court of Appeal in Katsina state are to get new car each within this year, Chief Registrar, Sharia Court of Appeal, Alhaji Bashir Audi Kankara, has revealed.
Kankara, who spoke with newsmen in Katsina yesterday said about N61 million will be expended for the purchase of the cars.
While explaining that the provision of the vehicles is to assist the Khadis in the discharge of their duties, he added that the Khadis have for seven years remained without new cars, which in most cases hinders their ability to perform their assigned responsibilities.
The chief registrar further said about N9 million will be expended on the renovation of three Sharia Court of Appeal offices at Daura, Funtua and Dutsin-ma.
And, according to him, N500 million was earmarked for the establishment of Sharia Court of Appeal complex in Katsina.
Kankara explained that Sharia Court of Appeal in the state has made adequate provisions to improve welfare of Khadis and ensure quick dispensation of justice.
He commended the state government for its assistance and encouragement.
