Kura council settles N1.5m liability

THE sole administrator of Kura local government council in Kano state, Alhaji Muktar Sulaiman Gwale, has settled the constructor supplying diesel to the water treatment plant worth N1.5 million to ensure continuous supply of water to the area.
Alhaji Gwale explained that the council owed the contractor the amount which accumulated following the failure by the previous council to settle him.
The sole administrator revealed this to Daily Triumph, saying the gesture is to solve the problem of acute water supply in the area.
He stated that his council has also accorded contract of general overhauling of Kofar Yamma water distribution engine, to supplement the major plant, and advised his staff especially those responsible for the distribution of the diesel to various sectors in the council, to be fair.
Alhaji Gwale explained that his council considers the ongoing voter revalidation exercise very important and as such, it would do every possible to ensure that all the indigenes of the local government have participated in the exercise.
