Nigeria’s coach warns scouts
THE menace of International Club scouts at the on-going CAF Youth Championship has compelled Flying Eagles Chief Coach Godwin Uwua, to issue a stay-clear order at the Nigerian camp in Pointe Noire, reports hotsportslive.com
“I am not against scouts. But they will not talk to my players when the Competition is on”, said Uwua, known for his tough-stance.
“There is no doubt that these players will use the Championship to further their careers but to me, this is a distraction during a big Competition of this magnitude.
“Whoever wants to talk to my players will have to wait till the end of the Competition”, warned the man who led top Nigerian side Enyimba International of Aba to continental greatness.
Four goals from the Flying Eagles in their opening encounter against Zambia have made the players the toast of fans and scouts alike in Congo.
Top marksman, Simeon Zenke, of Strasbourg of France has been under close scrutiny from scouts after his brace, just like Chelsea’s Emmanuel Sarki ,who has just finished his one year loan spell with Westerloo.
The AYC has always been a major breeding ground for future world soccer stars.
