Road projects to gulp N12bn in Katsina

KATSINA state ministry of works and housing is to spend about N12 billion for the completion of the on-going road renovation supervising commissioner of the ministry Engr. Mustapha Rabe Daura has said.
Answering question in Katsina, Engr. Daura explained that the amount will be spent within this month.
He explained that out of the amount, about nine township roads will be constructed to ease traffic problem within the metropolitan area.
The commissioner further said about N2 billion will be expended for the expansion of Katsina airport to be completed in November this year.
Giving a breakdown of the major roads construction to be undertaken by the ministry, Engr. Daura said his ministry will construct Funtua township phase three.
He further said that government would re-construct Shargalle-Dutsi-Ingawa roads and construct a new bridge along the road.
Other major roads include Rimi-Tsagero road, Batagrawa-Kano road and laying of asphalt on Charanchi-Matazu-Kafin Soli roads.
Engr. Daura also explained that his ministry has planned within the year, to purchase additional buses for the state transport authority.
The commissioner said the purchase of additional buses is in view of higher demand from the commuters.
