KNSG reaffirms commitment to
healthcare delivery
KANO state commissioner of health, Dr. Sanda Muhammad has
reiterated the state government's determination to provide
qualitative healthcare delivery services to the teaming populace
in the state.
The commissioner made the assertion through the permanent
secretary, Hajia Salamatu M.N. Garba during an inspection of
health facilities in Gabasawa local government area.
Dr. Muhammad said the state government has constructed and
equipped the laboratory and pharmacy units of Zakirai
Comprehensive Health Centre which will be upgraded in the 2007
budget.
The commissioner said the present administration in the state
has brought healthcare delivery services to the door step of the
people in order to have healthy citizenry.
Dr. Muhammad commended the new sole administrator of the area
for the giant stride he made in the health sector and the
community coalition groups in the area for building a
three-bedroom residence for the doctor.
The commissioner, who said from the inception of this
administration, new healthcare centres have been built,
upgraded, renovated and equipped others with modern facilities.
Conducting the representative of the commissioner round Zakirai
Comprehesive Health Centre and Gabasawa General Hospital, the
sole administrator of the area, Alhaji Bala Abdullahi Rogo said
the first complaints lodged before him when resumed duty was the
Zakirai Health Centre.
He said the local government has renovated Gabasawa Health
Centre and promised to put the generator back to work.
Alhaji Rogo said an individual philanthropist has constructed a
borehole to supply the health centre with potable water.
He said his administration will give full support to the free
antenatal care of the present administration and ensure that
children below the age of five are fully immunized.
The sole administrator then called on the Community Coalition
Committee in the area to continue with the good work and pledged
his council’s support.
In his contribution, the district head of Gabasawa, Sarkin
Dawaki Mai Tuta, Alhaji Bello Abubakar, called the people of the
area to come out and patronize the hospital, now that everything
has been put in place to minimize the problem of going to Kano
for their healthcare needs.
All directors from the state ministry of health were on the
commissioner’s entourage.
