PHCN blames power outage on inadequate supply
The Business Manager of the PHCN in Gusau, Mr Omolaja Ogunbayo, has attributed the current power outage in Zamfara to inadequate supply from Mando, Kaduna.
Ogunbayo told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) yesterday in Gusau that only five megawatts (MW) of electricity was being supplied to the state.
The supply was grossly inadequate for the entire state, he explained.
"We need a minimum of 20MW, but we are receiving only five now. How do we share five megawatts?'' he asked.
"The information we gathered is that some people have vandalised our gas pipeline in Lagos that supplies Egbin power station.
''That has seriously affected generation,"the manager said.
He, therefore, appealed to customers to bear with the current situation as the PHCNwas striving to restore normal power supply to the affected states.
