Voters registration:
Obasanjo declares Monday work-free for federal workers
President Olusegun Obasanjo has declared Monday January 29, 2007
a work-free day for all federal government employees in the
country to boost participation in the ongoing registration of
voters for this year’s general elections.
President Obasanjo also called on all state governors to
similarly declare work-free periods or days in their states to
enable all those who have not yet registered for the elections
to do so before the end of the exercise.
The president said in a message to the state governors that
every possible effort must be made to persuade and mobilize all
eligible Nigerians to register for the elections within the
remaining days of the registration exercise. |
