...C’ttee urges Albasu, Takai
councils to mobilise women
By HASAN MUHAMMAD
IN an effort to boost registration exercise, Takai and Albasu
local government areas of Kano state have been called upon to
put more effort in ensuring that women and youths participate
fully in the exercise.
The call was made by the state Committee for Enlightenment and
Sensitization on Voter Registration when they paid a visit to
the area.
Members of the committee, led by Alhaji Lawal Muhammad Dakata,
observed that some Fulani do not allowing their wives to
register.
In this regard, the committee solicited for the support of the
local government committee to embark on enlightenment campaign
so that Fulani will allow their wives to participate.
He stressed the need for the support of the council’s Miyyeti
Allah Association in that direction.
