Makarfi calls for issue politics
GovERNOR Ahmad Muhammad Makarfi of Kaduna state hasurged politicians in the country to play politics of issues rather than that of blackmail.
Receiving DPP Presidential candidate, Governor Attahiru Bafarawa of sokoto State, Makarfi said Nigeria requires a secured society, which provides equal opportunities.
Makarfi said Nigeria should, within the next 15 to 20 years, be at par with the rest of the comity of developed nations.
The governor further said that Nigerians should continue to work and pray, saying, ``we need to do this so that we will have a cause to smile''.
He also stressed the need for Nigeria to transit from the current civilian administration to another in May 29.
``It is fundamental that the people, who genuinely joined politics should work together,'' he said.
Responding, Bafarawa maintained that leaders should continue to lead by example, noting that Nigeria should be built for the betterment of every citizen.
``It is only by so doing that Nigerians will have an unfettered freedom of movement and speech,'' he said.
